The ReLEx® SMILE method only takes a total of 10 minutes with a laser process for only 24 seconds / eye. The incision in the cornea is only 2-4 mm in size, to keep the corneal structure stable. There are three stages to the ReLEx® SMILE procedure:
1. Lenticule making. Visumax’s Femtosecond Laser will make lenticeles, which are a thin layer of corneal tissue and a 2-4mm incision on the side of the cornea.
